Counseling for men and young men working through addiction, trauma, and the harder questions of who they are. Straight talk, real tools, and a steady guide for the road back to yourself.
Most men don't walk in with the perfect words. They walk in because something isn't working anymore. See if any of this lands.
You're leaning on something — a substance, a screen, a habit — to get through the day, and it's costing you more than it gives back.
Something happened that you've never really dealt with, and it still runs the show more than you'd like to admit.
You've done everything you were "supposed" to do, and you still don't know who you actually are or what you want.
You hold it together for everyone else and you're worn thin underneath the version of you they see.
The anger, the numbness, or the shame shows up in ways you don't like — and you're tired of white-knuckling it.
You want to show up better — as a son, a friend, a partner, a father — and you're not sure how to get there.
You don't need the right words yet. Figuring it out is exactly what the first conversation is for.
Every man's road looks different. These are the roads I know well — and most guys are walking more than one at a time.
Substances, alcohol, porn, gaming, or the compulsions that took on a life of their own. Real recovery — built on understanding what the habit was doing for you, not on shame.
Certified Addiction CounselingFor the wounds — old or recent — that still hijack your body and your reactions. We work at your pace, with trauma-informed care, to take away their grip so the past stops driving the present.
Trauma-Informed CareThe "who am I and where am I headed" work. For the teenager finding his footing and the grown man who lost track of what he stands for. We build a direction that's actually yours.
Teens & AdultsNot the loud, performed kind — the quiet, steady kind that holds up when no one's watching. We rebuild how you see yourself and how you carry it into the rooms that matter.
Grounded ConfidenceAnthony encouraged me to challenge my negative thinking. He was compassionate to my needs and stayed professional even when dealing with sensitive topics.

I've spent my career sitting across from men and young men at the hardest points of their lives — in private practice and inside a residential treatment center for teens. What I've learned is simple: guys don't need to be fixed. They need a straight-shooting guide who won't flinch, won't judge, and won't let them stay stuck.
I'm a licensed clinical professional counselor and a licensed addiction counselor with a master's in mental health counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary. My work blends evidence-based tools — trauma-informed care, addiction-informed practice, and practical skills — with a real relationship where you can finally say the thing out loud.
Korean-American, raised between Queens and New Jersey, now planted in Kansas City. I do this work because I believe every man has a road worth walking — and no one should have to find it alone.
Let's find yours. — Anthony
If you're watching your teenage son pull away, numb out, or struggle in ways you don't have words for — you're not overreacting, and you're not alone. Reaching out for him is one of the strongest things a parent can do.
I work with young men 14 and up, and I know how to earn a guarded teenager's trust without breaking yours. Let's talk about what he needs.
Talk about your sonFor therapy to actually work, your son needs to trust that what he says stays private. Here's how I hold that line: for clients under 18, a parent or guardian is part of getting started and gives consent for treatment. From there, what he shares with me stays between us — you'll get general updates on how he's doing and how to support him at home, not a play-by-play of every session. We agree on exactly how this works, together, in the first session.
Some things I will always tell you about — because safety comes first:
Kansas law also gives older teens a voice in their own care, and my ethical code as a counselor asks me to protect that trust. So I make sure both you and your son understand these boundaries up front — no surprises, for either of you.
No commitment, no pressure. Just a conversation to see if this is a fit.
Book a free consult online, or call or email. Tell me as much or as little as you want.
A short, no-cost call to hear what's going on and answer your questions — including the awkward ones.
We meet, get the lay of the land, and set a direction. You leave with a next step, not homework.
We go at your pace, with real tools and honest check-ins, until things actually start to shift.
No mystery, no runaround. Here's what to expect — and we'll confirm the specifics on your free consult.
Fees run $100–$200 per session depending on length (sessions come in 30, 60, 90, or 120 minutes). I'll confirm your exact rate before we begin.
I'm in-network with:
For other plans I'm out-of-network, but if you have a PPO you may get partial reimbursement. I'll provide a superbill you can submit to your insurer.
Cash, check, credit/debit, or HSA. Card payments run through the secure client portal (+3% processing). Please give 48 hours' notice to cancel, or the session is billed at full rate.
There's no such thing as a dumb question when it comes to this. If yours isn't here, just ask.
No script to memorize, no couch cliché. The first session is mostly me getting to know you and what's going on, and you getting a feel for whether we click. You talk as much or as little as you want. It's a conversation with a guy whose job is to help you sort things out — that's it.
Men and young men, age 14 and up. My focus is addiction and recovery, trauma, and the identity and confidence work that goes with becoming who you want to be. If you're not sure you're a fit, reach out and we'll figure it out together.
My office is at 5000 W 95th St, Suite 285, Prairie Village, KS 66207 — convenient to Overland Park and the greater Kansas City area. I also offer secure telehealth to clients in Kansas, Missouri, New York, and Texas.
Monday–Friday, 9am–6pm Central. Early on we'll usually meet weekly at the same time to build momentum; later we can space things out as you need. If you call during the day and I don't pick up, I'm likely in session and will call back that day.
You can book 30, 60, 90, or 120 minutes. Most people do 60. We'll land on what fits your goals and your schedule.
Fees range from $100–$200 per session depending on length. I'll give you the exact number up front — see the Fees & Insurance section above for the full picture.
Yes — I'm in-network with BCBS KC, Optum/UHC, Aetna, Cigna, and Sunflower Health. For other plans I can provide a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement. One thing worth knowing: using insurance requires a formal diagnosis that becomes part of your permanent record, and insurers can request your notes. Paying privately avoids both.
Cash, check, credit/debit, or HSA card. Card payments go through the secure client portal (with a 3% processing fee), and I can send electronic invoices and statements for your records.
Please give at least 48 hours' notice. Your time is held just for you, so cancellations inside 48 hours are billed at the full session rate. Life happens — tell me as early as you can and we'll work with it.
No — I'm a licensed counselor, not a prescriber. If medication might help, I can coordinate with your doctor or refer you to a psychiatric provider I trust.
That's incredibly common, and it doesn't mean he's a lost cause. Reach out yourself — we'll talk through what's going on and how to approach him in a way that lowers his guard instead of raising it. See the "For Parents" section above for how confidentiality works with teens.
"Every man carries a story worth redeeming and a road worth walking."
This is a faith-informed practice, and I'm glad to bring that into the room when it matters to you. It's an invitation, never a requirement — men of every background and belief are genuinely welcome here.
The hardest part is deciding to. Send a note or call — I read everything myself, and I'll get back to you within one business day.
A short, no-pressure call to see if we're a good fit. Pick a time on my calendar — it takes about a minute, and nothing is collected here that you'd want kept private.
