COMMON QUESTIONS

Have a question you’d like to ask? We're committed to giving people the best care and experience we can. There’s no such thing as a bad question when it comes to mental health. Check out the answers to the FAQs below, and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any additional questions.

Where are you located?

5000 W 95h St Suite 285

Can you see out-of-state residents?

We can only see residents of Kansas, Missouri, Idaho (telehealth), New York (telehealth), and Florida (telehealth) at this time. If you are out-of-state, we can see you in person at our office however long you're in town. There is legislation pending for counselor's to provide therapy in other states. Feel free to contact your local representative about this. You can check it out here: https://counselingcompact.org

What are your hours?

Monday-Friday 9a-6p

(All in Central Time)

Initially, appointments are scheduled weekly at the same time for every session if possible. This helps build consistency and a good foundation for our work together. Later in the process, we may decide to meet less often depending on your needs.

If you call during business hours and we don’t answer, we're likely with a patient and will return your call later that day. Calls received after hours will be returned the next day.

What ages do you see?

We work with people ages 5 and up at this time.

How much are your services?

Our fees range from $100-$200 depending on the clinician. Please inquire for exact rates.

HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?

Sessions can be scheduled for:

  • 30 minutes (25-minute session and 5 minutes for charting)

  • 60 minutes (55-minute session and 5 minutes for charting)

  • 90 minutes (85-minute session and 5 minutes for charting)

  • 120 minutes (115-minute session and 5 minutes for charting)

If sessions exceed the scheduled time, then fees will be pro-rated.

What is your cancellation policy?

Sessions that are not canceled 48 hours in advance will be charged the full session rate. Your time is reserved just for you, and others are waiting for available openings. Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance will be billed the full session rate. We understand emergencies happen so let us know as soon as you're able to so that we can work with you and make informed decisions when they do occur.

How do I pay?

We accept cash, check, credit/debit card, or HSA cards. Credit charging can be done through the client portal via Stripe (w/ additional 3% processing fee). We can send you invoices and statements electronically for your records

Do you take Insurance?

Only Anthony takes BCBS KC, Optum, UHC, Aetna, and Cigna at this time. We are considered out-of-network for all other insurance companies. If your insurance is a PPO, you may have benefits that will provide some coverage. It is your responsibility to contact them to ask if they offer this type of reimbursement for behavioral health outpatient services. We can provide you with a form called a Superbill that has the information needed (including a diagnosis) to submit to your insurance company. You can do this on their website or you can call your insurance provider. You are responsible for paying at the time of service with the options mentioned above.

There are some downsides to using insurance coverage for our sessions. Insurance is based on a medical model, so we are required to provide a diagnosis. That diagnosis becomes a part of your permanent medical database and may impact life insurance rates or security clearances.

There is also a loss of some confidentiality in that the insurance company may request part of your records, and we have no control over how that information is handled once we release it to them.
